Jóia Food & Fiber Farm and Counting Sheep Sleep Company are located on the ancestral lands of the Ioway people, the Wahpeton (Lakota), the Oceti Sakowin [oh-CHEH-tee shaw-KOH-we] (Lakota, Dakota and Nakota peoples), and Sauk and Meskwaki peoples. This land was taken away from them due to colonization. We acknowledge that our efforts are not going to undo the past but we are committed to taking action in the present and helping contribute to a just and equitable future.
